Estate Planning Essential Skills Workshop

with

Karen R. Mills, Sara Riechert, Eric Wilen

3 hours of CLE approved.

3.5 hours CPE credit approved.
CPA certificates will be provided.

This is a half-day in-person seminar and workshop for professionals who are new to estate planning and would like to gain a better understanding of just what exactly estate planning is and how they can become more conversant in estate planning concepts.

This course is ideal for attorneys, accountants, Trust Officers,  and financial planners who are just getting started or seeking a refresher.

The workshop will be conducted by attorneys who practice estate planning in the DuPage community. They include Karen Mills from Aronberg Goldgehn, Sara Riechert from Chamberlin Riechert Law Group and Eric Wilen from Brooks, Tarulis & Tibble.

Presenters will discuss the importance of titling assets and accounts, beneficiary designations and how it will affect a client’s estate plan, powers of attorney and why it is important to incorporate disability planning into the client’s estate plan, how a last will and testament and revocable “living” trust work together to create the client’s estate plan and how a revocable “living” trust can help avoid the probate court process and pass on assets to spouses and children, provide practical wisdom and advice on selecting executors, trustees and agents, and a better understanding of estate and gift tax laws and how a client’s estate plan is intended to maximize the client’s estate and gift tax exemption amounts.

  • Registration and continental breakfast from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
