We have already seen two Acts which impact retirement savings and charitable giving. 2021 promises to be even more tumultuous. Join us as we discuss recent legislative changes and the charitable giving techniques that clients need to consider as part of their year- end planning.

Brian Whitlock CPA, JD, LLM

Brian T. Whitlock is semi-retired attorney and advisor to tax exempt organizations, closely held businesses, and their stakeholders.  Brian is adept at tailoring wealth transfer strategies that fulfill the personal and non-tax objectives of clients.

Brian retired in 2016 from Plante Moran, PLLC and its predecessor Blackman Kallick, LLP, a certified public accounting firm where he practiced for thirty (30) years.

Brian received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1976 and his J.D. with honors from IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1979, and his L.L.M. (Taxation) with high honors from IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1989. Brian is licensed to practice in Illinois as both an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant.

Brian is the current Vice-Chair of the Illinois Board of Examiners (IBOE) which oversees the CPA Examination in Illinois. Brian is a Past Chair of the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) and a recipient of the ICPAS Lifetime Achievement Award.

Brian writes a bi-monthly column under the by-line “Untaxingly yours” for Taxes – The Tax Magazine, published by the CCH division of Wolters Kluwer’s.
