Antje Gehrken, CCIM
President, A.R.E. Partners Inc.

Antje Gehrken is the President and Designated Managing Broker of A.R.E Partners, a boutique brokerage that developed the MACH3 (M3) approach to real estate. With 20 years’ experience in real estate including representing investors, home owners, lenders, and property and asset managers, she takes a hands-on approach with the operations of A.R.E. and creates a go-to market strategy specific to each client.

Ms. Gehrken is the 2019-20 Treasurer of the Chicago Association of Realtors (CAR), the board on which she has served since 2015. She is an active mentor for the Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Commercial Real Estate Initiative. In 2014, Ms. Gehrken was named as the Women's Council of Realtors' Entrepreneur of the Year and, in 2018, received the prestigious Chicago Association of Realtors President’s Award. Ms. Gehrken is featured as one of three real estate brokers nationally in the book "Becoming A Real Estate Agent" (Simon & Schuster) and was recently honored as a 2019 Who's Who by Chicago Agent Magazine.

Ms. Gehrken is also a designated Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), which recognizes her as an expert in the commercial and investment real estate industry. 

Born and raised in Chicago, Antje enjoys tennis, horses, reading, new challenges, and, above all else, spending time with her family.

Fred Jahns
Brookwood Vance, LLC

Fred Jahns is the founder and president of Brookwood Vance, LLC, a firm dedicated to valuing privately held equity interests and evaluating ownership succession alternatives for business owners.

Fred is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers and holds the Accredited in Business Valuation designation (ABV) awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has more than 30 years of experience performing business valuations across a wide range of industries for trust and estate administration, litigated matters, and transactions involving the transfer of full or partial ownership interests in privately held companies. His work includes serving as the vice president in charge of Special Assets for American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago.

A frequent speaker, Fred has addressed such diverse organizations as the ESOP Association, Illinois CPA Society, DuPage Estate Planning Council, the National Gas Association of Houston, Canadian Energy Research Institute, Wisconsin Association of Manufacturers and Commerce, Texas Society of CPAs, Midwest Cogeneration Association, National Center for Employee Ownership, Institute for International Research, and the South Suburban Estate Planning Council. In addition, Fred has served as a guest lecturer at DePaul University and John Marshall Law School in Chicago and as an adjunct professor at Concordia University‐Chicago.

Fred began his career as a certified public accountant for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. and earned an MBA in Finance with distinction from DePaul University in Chicago. He has served in various capacities with numerous professional associations including three‐term president of the Business Valuation Association of Chicago, six‐term Vice President of the Illinois Chapter of the ESOP Association and chair of the Illinois CPA Society’s Estate and Gift Tax Committee.

Fred has been accepted as an expert by courts in Cook County, Illinois, Kane County, Illinois and Maui, Hawaii. He has consulted and testified on various valuation matters involving family disputes and shareholder oppression. He has also testified on behalf of a consortium of energy suppliers before the Illinois Commerce Commission.


Kathryn Van Eeuwen
President/CEO, ATG Trust Company

Kathy is a trust and estate professional with over 26 years in the wealth management industry.  During her career, Kathy has served as a Trust Officer, Trust Manager and Senior Client Advisor at leading financial institutions including BMO Private Bank, JPMorgan, and Citigroup where she assisted high net worth and ultra-high net worth families achieve their wealth transfer goals. Kathy received her B.A. in Business Administration from Hope College and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee.  She is a member of the Michigan Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association Trust & Estate Planning Section, and the DuPage County Estate Planning Council.

Kathy lives in Naperville, IL with her husband and two sons and currently serves as a volunteer for DuPage Pads.


Nick Vogel

As an early supporter of the Ethereum Decentralized Blockchain Network Nick became interested in the intersection of Blockchain technology and Federal (U.S.) regulation. As an adviser for an Ethereum-based ICO in 2016 Nick became familiar with U.S. Federal regulation and other legal matters related to Ethereum and crypto currency in general.  His paper "The Great Decentralization" is among the first academic legal papers published on the regulation of block chain technology, Ethereum and smart contracts. 

Nick learned the ins and outs of estate and trust litigation while working for Charles T. Newland & Associates, where he focused on trust and estate litigation and estate planning, probate, disabled adult probate, and probate for minor children  

Nick graduated from the John Marshall Law school, where he served as the Articles Editor for the Review of Intellectual Property Law (RIPL). He has also had two articles published in RIPL, one focused on Patent law and a second focused on Smart Contracts (blockchain technology) and copyrights. 

Nick recently began an in-house position for a national trucking company called Compass Holding, LLC which provides multiple services to trucking and transportation industry.
