Bill Ellsworth founded Ellsworth Law, LLC in 2022 to provide clients with a boutique estate planning experience customized to their needs and delivered at efficient price points. Bill practices law in both Illinois and Florida.
Prior to establishing Ellsworth Law, LLC, Bill dedicated himself to his clients for over fifteen years while practicing law at each type of law firm: as an associate at a small firm (4 attorneys), as an associate and a partner at a mid-size firm (60 attorneys), and as a partner at a large law firm (250+ attorneys). Bill has represented a variety of private clients from young families in need of basic wills, to business owners in need of asset protection, succession, and tax planning, to ultra-high-net-worth families.
Bill earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of Notre Dame. While studying biologic sciences in college, Bill helped publish research in the scientific journal, Gastroenterology. At DePaul University College of Law, Bill shifted his focus to estate planning and graduated Cum Laude from DePaul University College of Law with a Certificate in Taxation. In addition to Bill’s Illinois and Florida law practice, he is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Bill has been married the same length as his legal career and has three wonderful sons. In addition to his commitment to client’s planning goals, Bill also practices physical fitness, having completed many marathons, including one marathon as the last leg of an IRONMAN triathlon.
Bill is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Fenwick Bar Association, and the DuPage County Estate Planning Counsel.
