Karen Fleming

 As a Director with FORVIS Private Client, Karen is a trusted advisor and taxation specialist based out of Chicago, IL. Karen is Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and works with High Net Worth (HNW) Individual Income Tax, Trusts and Estates, closely held flow through entities, Family Offices, Gift, and Wealth Planning. Additionally, Karen serve as the FORVIS Private Client leader for our New York City office.

Karen serves as Chair of the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) Tax Executive Committee, and additionally, is the immediate past-chair of the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) Estate Gift and Trust Committee.  Karen is a board member of the DuPage County Estate Planning Council, a committee member of the REG Exam committee for the American Institute of CPAs, and Co-Chair of the Young Professionals Network of the Family Wealth Alliance. 

Karen engages in lectures on divorce taxation, estate administration, trust income taxation, and other specialized topics.  Karen has authored articles featured on FORVIS FORsights (formerly BKD Thoughtware) and has been a guest on the Simply Tax Podcast as well as a speaker at local Estate Planning Council forums. Karen is involved in the community philanthropically through service as chair of the Next Generation Initiative of the DuPage Foundation.

She is a 2009 summa cum laude graduate of Northern Michigan University, Marquette, with a B.S. degree in accountancy, and a 2018 graduate with distinction of DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, with an M.S. degree in taxation.
