Pat McNally is the founder of Clarity Advisors & Consultants, Ltd. Clarity assists clients with business transitions including buying and selling businesses, succession, partnership/family issues, and helping business owners analyze these issues clearly. Helping clients to understand and manage the value of their business is integral to these services.
Pat has managed the sale of businesses to achieve the highest return for the seller while also making sure the sellers realize their non-financial goals. Pat feels that business owners should first strongly consider whether a sale is right for them and how their businesses might be made more marketable prior to any sale. He also believes that correctly managing post-sale issues and taxes is as critical as negotiating the sale itself.
Pat has valued businesses and intangible assets in a wide range of industries. Valuations have been performed for estate and gift tax, transactions, buy-sell agreements, ownership planning, and litigation among other purposes. Pat has served as an expert witness on valuation, mergers and acquisitions and other issues.
Before founding Clarity, Pat was a partner at Plante Moran/Blackman Kallick for twenty-five years. While there he started and managed a number of successful consulting practices including Valuation Consulting, Corporate Finance Consulting and Turnaround Management Consulting. Prior to joining Plante Moran/Blackman Kallick, Pat held a variety of positions with a diverse range of companies, from management with venture capital start-ups to senior management with Fortune 500 subsidiaries.
Pat is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Accounting. His MBA is from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business with a concentration in Business Economics. Pat is a CPA and Accredited in Business Valuations and Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
